How to Unlock the Universal Fungus Domain

While Genshin Impact update 3.0 brought a lot to do in Sumeru on the surface, it also brought a lot to do underground, including new areas. Here’s how you can unlock Universal Fungus Estates, one of many new additions.

Estates offer one of two types of experiences, either a long challenge for a small treasure or a repeatable fight that will grant the player useful items such as Artifacts.

Note that you will need a Dendro character or use a Dendrograne to complete the puzzle needed to unlock the Universal Fungus domain.

How to Unlock the Universal Fungus Estate

Elemental Monuments of Dendro can be found scattered near the site of the Buried Estate. As you might guess, successfully powering up these monuments using Dendro’s elemental damage will open the entrance

There are five monuments in total in the area, the fifth of which, located directly behind the Universal Mushroom Domain, is buried in a pile of rocks. To destroy the rocks and access the Monument, you will have to hit it with a Dendrograna to break it. Unlike monuments, these boulders can only be destroyed by Dendrograna, and not any Dendro damage type.

With the fifth monument discovered, you can now attempt to properly unlock the Universal Fungus estate; although before you start activating the monuments you will have to use a specific order to do it correctly.

The correct order for activating Dendro Monuments is listed below, along with a corresponding list for anyone having issues loading the picture guide outlining how to unlock the Universal Fungus Estate.

Enable them in the following order:

  • Right side of the Domaine building
  • Left side of the Domaine building
  • Monument previously buried under the rocks located behind the Domaine building
  • The other Monument located behind the Domain
  • Finally, the Monument in front of the Estate.

Relying on the Dendrogranum for this can be frustrating, so you’ll have more success using Collei to let you shoot all the monuments with Dendro damage with relative ease.

The Universal Fungal Realm, also known as “Under the Umbrella’s Shadow”, is found in the northernmost part of Verdant Sumeru. Or at least, the Sumeru that was released from Genshin Impact version 3.0.

You’ll be able to get to the Estate quickly after following the steps above to unlock it, but to access it you’ll likely need to use the Mawtiyima Forest Teleport Beacon.
